URL & List Cleaner

Paste any text or messy list and pull out clean URLs, domains, or slugs - then dedupe, sort, and tidy them. Everything runs in your browser; your text is never sent anywhere.

What this tool does

Paste any text - an article, a spreadsheet column, a messy export, a wall of links - and this tool pulls out exactly the part you want: every URL, every domain, or every URL slug. Then it cleans the result: remove duplicates, sort alphabetically, lowercase, strip protocols and www, and more. It is the fast way to turn a tangle of pasted text into a tidy, deduplicated list you can actually use.

Extract URLs from any text

The URLs mode scans your text and returns every http and https link it finds, ignoring everything else. It is perfect for pulling links out of an email, a document, a chat log, or scraped page text without hunting for them by hand. Combine it with "Remove duplicates" and "Sort A–Z" to get a clean, ordered link list in one step, ready to paste into a report, a spreadsheet, or another tool.

Clean a domain list for bulk SEO

The Domains mode extracts just the hostnames - from full URLs or from bare domains pasted in plain text - and the "Root domain only" option collapses subdomains so blog.example.co.uk becomes example.co.uk. This is exactly the format link-builders and SEOs need before bulk-checking metrics. Clean your list here, then paste the result straight into our Bulk Ahrefs DR Checker to look up Domain Rating for the whole list at once.

Root domain vs full hostname

A hostname is the full address before the path - blog.example.com or shop.example.co.uk. The root (registrable) domain is the part you actually buy and that owns the SEO authority - example.com or example.co.uk. Use the full hostname when subdomains matter (analysing a specific blog or shop), and the root domain when you want one entry per business - for example, deduplicating a prospect list or checking Domain Rating, which is measured at the root-domain level.

How to use this tool

Paste your text or list into the box, pick a mode (URLs, Domains, or Slugs), and tick the clean options you want. The result updates instantly in the editable box below - tweak it by hand if needed, then Copy it or Download it as CSV. Because everything runs locally in your browser, you can use it on private or unpublished lists without anything leaving your device, and it keeps working offline.

Frequently asked questions

Is this tool free, and does it send my text anywhere? +

It is completely free with no signup, and nothing is sent anywhere. All extracting and cleaning happens in your browser - your text never leaves your device.

What is the difference between a domain and a root domain? +

A domain (hostname) is the full address like blog.example.co.uk. The root domain is the registrable part you own - example.co.uk. Tick "Root domain only" in Domains mode to collapse subdomains down to the root.

Can I get just the root domains to check their Domain Rating? +

Yes. Use Domains mode with "Root domain only" and "Remove duplicates", then copy the list and paste it into our Bulk Ahrefs DR Checker to look up Domain Rating for every domain at once.

What is a URL slug? +

A slug is the last readable part of a URL path. For https://example.com/blog/best-free-tools/ the slug is "best-free-tools". Slugs mode pulls the slug from each URL, which is handy for auditing URL structure or spotting keyword patterns.

Does it work offline? +

Once the page has loaded, yes. The tool runs entirely in your browser, so it keeps working without an internet connection.
